Today is Birth Mother's Day! We
just want to tell you all how much love your adoptive couples and children have
for you. You are and will forever be angels. There are people who think that
Birth Mothers place their children with families because they don't love them,
but I have to tell you, that is not the case. A Birth Mother's love is stronger
than any love any person who thinks that has ever felt. She loved so deeply
that she put that baby and his needs first. Here is a quote from a Birth Mother
that explains what I mean. (Found on The Agape Project's Facebook page)
I have always believed, and made sure our Birth
Mothers knew, that we are both this baby's mother. How can I parent a child
that someone grew in their tummy and then take all that credit away from her?
There's no way I can. We are just mothers in two different ways. One's love is
not stronger than another's. One just gets to grow that love every day by being
there with and for him and the other's love grows because she is not with him.
Here is another awesome quote posted by The Agape Project.
Being an adoptive parent is so rewarding. I get to feel love in ways most
have never been able to comprehend. Our Birth Mother is very dear to me because
at the time of our son's birth, she did what was hard, but she put his needs
first. She did what she knew was best for him. She will forever remain in our
hearts because of this. It was not an easy thing. She did not happily place
this child in our arms. She spent months making a plan. Thinking about how, and
with who, this baby would be raised. She did not make this decision lightly. We
are forever blessed because of this beautiful woman. She has changed our lives,
and the path of our son's life. It's amazing to see how many lives have been
touched and changed by this one selfless decision. We are forever grateful to
you, Birth Mothers, especially ours. You can never fully understand the amount
of healing you have given us. You have changed lives. You deserve to be
acknowledged on this day. We love you. You are our angels!
