Grant had his first Halloween! Joe said we should make him a
minion because of how round he is! He would make a good minion! He was right! A
couple weeks ago, I started making up a pattern for this little minion costume.
I croceted, fitted, took out and recrocheted this costume until it was perfect!
Then last week we had a party and I thought, he can’t be the only one dressed
up, so that morning I crocheted us matching hats and then we got yellow shirts
and jeans. It was fun dressing up with our child for the first time! Everyone
though he was the cutest thing ever! Then the day before the party, my friend,
who has a 2 month old, was telling me that she doesn’t know what she was going
to dress her baby as so I offered to make her a costume. I made her a mermaid.
I didn’t know what I was getting myself into until it was 5:30 am and I was
still up putting the finishing touches on the costume! But it turned out so
cute!
Grant got to go around and mingle with everyone at the Trunk
or Treat. We didn’t collect candy because he can’t eat it and I don’t like it
and Joe shouldn’t have it, but Bishop Hodson wouldn’t have it! (He loves kids!)
He gave Grant his first and only candy… Peanut butter M&M’s. Joe’s parents
were in town because we were all headed to California the next day for Joe’s
nephew’s baptism. My parents met us at the Trunk or Treat so that they could
see him on his first Halloween and then we went to my house and had tacos with
everyone! It was a fun first Halloween as a little minion family!
The mermaid costume I made for Grant's girlfriend!
