Today was an amazing day! Yesterday we drove 9 hours to Elko
NV to meet Grant’s Birth Mom! We got to our hotel and checked in and then went
to do some shopping. Then we came back and played with Grant all night. I made
him laugh so hard! It was the first time I have ever heard him laugh so hard!
It made my night, and quite possibly, my entire year!!! He’s getting so big
now! He is in 6-9 month clothes! Can you believe it? Anyway, we woke up this
morning and tried to pass the time. Eventually it was time to leave the hotel
so we checked out and went shopping again! We bought Grant his first baseball
hat! It was so cute! Then it was time to go to the restaurant to meet his Birth
Mother. She sent us an email telling us she was running a little late so we
played on the train for a while! We finally went into the restaurant and waited
for her to arrive. Our caseworker arrived first and shortly after that, she
arrived! We were all a little nervous, but I handed Grant to her as soon as we
sat down and her nerves seemed to calm a bit! We had a wonderful time talking
and getting to know one another! It was so nice to hear how grateful she was
for us and that she could see how happy Grant is and it made her so happy. It
was just overall a wonderful experience! There were laughs when it came time to
change his diaper and I offered it to her! She commented on how that’s our job
now! J
It was nice to see her so happy and feel good about her decision. She is an
amazingly strong woman! We are so grateful for her in our lives. We couldn’t have
grown our family without her.
