Anayah comes home!!!

This morning was tough!  We waited by the phone literally.  I was having a hard time breathing.  I was so nervous that we wouldn't get the call.  They were supposed to meet at 9 and by ten I started worrying.  We finally got the call and I almost collapsed on the floor!  I screamed and said, "We're finally parents!  After 6 years, our dreams have finally come true!"  Joe grabbed me and we hugged for a very long time and cried!  I could breath again!  Soon we were on our way to pick up our child from the hospital.  We couldn't get there fast enough.  We ran up and were about to go into the room where BM was but then we received a message that she didn't want us to sign in the room with her but that she wanted to hand Anayah over to us when we were done.  So we went into the waiting room and waited.  When we started to sign papers my parents were there and they took video and pictures of us signing.

We came across the papers that talked about this being an at risk placement and I got a little nervous.  Our caseworker told us not to worry because even in the BF came forward, they had enough proof that they tried to get him to sign.  So we signed and thought nothing more of it.  Later, the Bm changed her mind about wanting to see us and hand Anayah over to us and she ended up just leaving.  We had to wait for the hospital's caseworker to come and check Anayah out which took forever.  My amazing family, even though they had someplace to be, stayed with us until after 2 pm when we were finally able to take her home.  We were able to go into the NICU where she now was and change her.  I put her in an outfit that BM gave her when I cut her hair the previous week.  She was so cute.  There was a nurse there who took pictures of us changing her and us signing the papers from the hospital.  She was so sweet.

 Our family photo after getting her dressed!  (Joe's face always looks like this in pictures so we don't have a good one of us!  This is as good as it gets!)

We then put her into her car seat and Daddy went down to cool off the car and bring it up front.  We went out and placed out baby into our car.  My mom cried so hard and said she'd been waiting for this day for us for a very long time.  We decided to go home and rest because we hadn't gotten any sleep the last few days.  We finally got her home safely, but since it was so late no one was able to come home with us to take a picture of us bringing her into our home for the first time so we had to...  can't see her poor little face!

We took her around the house to show her her new home.  We took a few pictures and then laid in bed.  I didn't want to let her go so I laid her on my chest and we started to fall asleep.

I was just dozing off when I felt something brush my face and thought, "oh, the dog!" and then woke up to realize that we didn't have a dog.  I think that us having a baby had been a dream of ours for so long that now that it was a reality we couldn't believe it.  Then I couldn't get to sleep so I laid her on the bed, right in the middle and then went into the other room.

After about 5 minutes I started missing her so much and I think I wanted to go make sure she was really there and when I got into the room, this is what I saw.

I woke Joe up taking the picture so we decided that we wouldn't be able to sleep so we went to my parents house to introduce the niece and nephews to their new cousin.  We got there and everyone went crazy over her.  Grandpa had to hold her first.  He grabbed her and held her down in his arms and said to her, "Now, let's see, I held all my kids like this, so I have to try this and see how it feels!"  You could tell he was loving it!

The kids were begging to take turns holding her.  They kept saying that she's so cute and they hope their little sister looks just like her!  That was so funny because they're all bald when they're born!  Caeden was the funnest to see with her.  At first he stared at her and wouldn't look away.  Then he'd come a little closer and then he'd run off.  Then he would come up to her and stick out his hand and almost touch her and then run off again.  Finally he got the courage to touch her head and it was all downhill from there.
 I'll just look at it for now!
 Are you sure it's okay?
 Really sure? You're not
gunna slap me away, right?
 Okay maybe just this once.
Oh man, that was soft,
let me try that again!

He loved her so much.  He would say, "Uh Hode it?" So I'd put her in his arms.  He'd stare at her and kiss her and then I'd say, "Okay, are you all done now?"  He'd say, "Uh huh" so I'd start to pull her away and he'd say, " Uh hold it?"  He did this like 5 or 6 times!  It was so cute.  I started saying, "what is it?"  He'd say, "baby"  I'd get him to say, "Uh hold her?" but he'd always forget by the next time he wanted to hold her.  This is my favorite picture of them.  They look like they're talking!
