WOW!!! We had so much fun in Idaho. I loved being with our family. Joe ran his first marathon in 4 hrs and 49 minutes... Boston here he comes! Just kidding! I even walked a 10k with Joe's sister Linda. I came in last! Haha! It was nice spending all that time with her! I miss her and her family so much since they moved to Idaho.
Joe had fun golfing with his friends. We always enjoy seeing them. And I had fun running around with the kids. It was the first time since my surgery in September that I was able to see them and run around and play.
Being there in the slower paced lifestyle made me want to move there someday. You just tend to forget your worries when you're there with family. I don't know if I'd like it though because I'm a city girl and I don't know about that small town stuff. I'm especially scared of the snow and cold weather! I like the heat! I guess I'd get used to it though!
We went to Lava Hot Springs and played all day, I didn't swim though because I had gotten a little bug the day before and still felt a little off... and it was cold and I'm a wimp!!! Joe had a ton of fun though and so did all the kids! Then we went to Craters of the Moon. It was so windy but we got to go around in the caves where there was no wind! And Joe and I got to go to the Rexburg Temple. It was beautiful! The marathon was called the Teton Dam Marathon so all the volunteers had "Dam volunteer" on their shirts. It was so funny to see the missionaries with their name tags on the front and "Dam Volunteer on the back! I can't even explain the feeling I got when I saw Joe coming down the hill where I went up to wait for him. At the half marathon he ran I ran the last hundred feet or so with him so I could get a picture of him at the finish line. This time I ran the rest of the way with him again... I guess it should be a tradition now huh! I love him so much and thank God every day for bringing him and his wonderful family into my life.
